Yasmin Denise Pitre

Wife / Mom / Grandma / Minister / Teacher / Author

Yasmin, who is also known by her middle name, Denise, is one of many children. This is a brief part of her story. She has five sisters, Sheila, the oldest girl has been like a mother, Paalah, who always “tells it like it is”, twins, Sharon (who recently passed away) and Carolyn, always good for a laugh, Renaee, reminds everyone she is “the baby”, James, cook extraordinaire, Richmond, can be counted on for anything, Oscar, a great communicator, and Michael, a true techie indeed! She can’t forget Mama Irene, who stepped in and showed love and attention at a very crucial time. Mama Irene added to the family: Mae, Charles, Ella, Porter and Little Denise.

As Creative Director of Pitre Inspirations, Yasmin looks forward to uplifting individuals with whom she comes in contact.  Yasmin has been a school teacher for 21 years.  She has worked with young people of many ethnic groups and social backgrounds.  She spent 10 years in Human Resources working for an advertising agency, and a software developer. During this period she coordinated an adopt-a-school program, matching advertising specialists with hopeful middle school artists.  Many years ago while tutoring a 9 year old boy, she discovered that he could not read.  This was the turning point that provided the inspiration for a career change to education.

Yasmin has always had a desire to help people pursue their dreams.  She is now pursuing her own dream, that of writing and helping others.  She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and a Teachers’ Credential.  Her favorite past time is spent with her family and especially with her grandchildren. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and decorating for the holidays.
